Bestselling Children’s Author Visits Teign School

An exciting enrichment event was laid on for Teign School’s Year 7 students on Monday 10th February in the theatre.

Chris d’Lacey, a top international fantasy author, visited Teign once again to speak about his books including the bestselling ‘Last Dragon Chronicles’ series. His talk was both funny and informative, using questions he has been asked by students in the past to spark discussion with our Year 7s. By the end of the talk Chris inspired the next generation of authors and creative writers to write novels of their own!

At lunch time, Year 7s were invited to come to the library to buy books and have them signed or meet Chris and ask him yet more questions!  This proved very popular, a queue of students snaked its way around the library and by the end of the session Chris was worn out with signing his books and even the commemorative book marks.

Event organiser, Jo Halse said:

“This was Chris’s sixth visit to our school and once again he gave a presentation that the students won’t forget.  He is an inspiration to those young people who like to read and write. Chris has also become a firm friend to, and supporter of, Teign School.”
