We have been aware that since the Covid-19 closure, Teign students have not had access to the fantastic range of books in our school library. So, to provide all year groups with plenty of books to read for pleasure, we have set up a virtual library within the site ‘ePlatform’. Here, students have access to over £10,000 of eBooks that can be accessed on computers, phones or tablets (once logged in). Students will receive guidance notes on how to get started.

Our eLibrary can be accessed by following the link below or downloading the ePlatform App:

https://teignschool.eplatform.co

If you have any questions about the eLibrary, Accelerated Reader or your child’s reading, do contact Mrs Halse (our Library Manager) for help via email at Joanne.Halse@teignschool.org.uk

Additional Free Non-fiction/Fiction Books Available During Closure

Renaissance Learning (Accelerated Reader) are offering 7,000+ free mainly non-fiction eBooks at this site:

https://readon.myon.co.uk/library/browse.html

Some of these books may be a bit too ‘primary’ for our students but many will certainly support home learning for Years 7-9. The books that are particularly useful are in the categories Science, Cookery (under hobbies), Maths, History & Geography (under Social Studies) & Sport (both fiction & non-fiction). This is an open site so it is very simple to access via the link (no logins are required). A bonus is that all books are on Accelerated Reader so Y7 & 8 students can quiz after reading these books. There are also more fiction titles under the ‘Genres’ category. We hope you find this site useful.
