Bio – 
I’m married with two children and have been a Pension Administrator for a large insurance company since 2000. I’m a volunteer coach for a ladies netball group and primary after school gym club as well as a first aider for a youth rugby team. All of these jobs give me an understanding of the community and giving back as well as passion to improve using data, feedback and reflection which I bring to the governor role as well.

My daughter started year 7 at Teign School in 2017 and my son is in primary school. My wife and I have lived in Kingsteignton for over 10 years having both grown up in Devon.

I have 20 years experience working within financial services across multiple roles. Currently responsible for leading strategic direction, adherence to regulatory policies and financial management for Lloyds Bank Business Insurance Services.

I’m passionate about ensuring our children have the best possible education and believe clear direction, leadership, support and challenge is key to ensuring the high standards of Teign are maintained and able to meet future challenges.

Commercial banking manager with over 30 years experience, supporting businesses from start up to multi-million turnover companies achieve their potential. Managed client portfolios in the South West and line managed teams spread across large geographical areas.

Parent Governor for 8 years at Chudleigh Primary School, supporting the school to achieve two Outstanding OfSTED reviews. Also, a Parent Governor at  Teign School before becoming a Co-Opted Governor.

Freelance writer, broadcaster and editor with more than 30 years experience in print, digital and radio. Father of three sons, one of whom is currently at Teign. Bio – 

Has worked at Teign as its Library and Accelerated Reader Manager since January 2014. More recently has also held a Pastoral Success Leader role and in the future she will become more involved in developing reading skills across the school. Passion for getting students reading; whatever their ability.

In the past she was a Librarian at Newton Abbot College (as well as doing their publicity and carrying out Marketing duties).

She was the Children’s Fiction Book Buyer for the WHSmith chain! This is where she gained her knowledge of children’s literature and skills in book promotion.

Managing Director and majority shareholder of the Devon Waste Management Group of Companies.  Also a qualified Solicitor having previously practiced Corporate Law (including governance) for 15 years.  Responsible for the strategic direction of the business and lead its 140+ employees.

Value the importance of a solid education and firmly believes that all pupils have the ability to achieve through the right educational support structure and environment.
