Year 11 Parent Information Evening - Monday 28th September at 5.30pm

25th September 2020

Dear Parent/Carer

I hope this letter finds you and those you care about well.

In recent years, we have held Parent Information Evenings in September for parents/carers of students in all year groups.

Due to the current issues in relation to COVID-19, we are unable to welcome you into the school as we had originally hoped to do.

However, we feel that it is important that you are able to hear from Mrs Wharf about the school and the year ahead for our young people. As a result, we will be holding a virtual meeting for parents/carers of Year 11 students on Monday 28th September at 5.30pm.

The meeting will be held through Microsoft Teams and you can access the meeting by clicking on this link.

You do not need to have Microsoft Teams installed, you only need access to a web browser.  You can access the meeting through a laptop/computer, tablet or through a smart phone. Please try signing in to the event approximately 5-10 minutes before the start time to ensure that the technology is working.  Should there be an issue with the event that means it does not work, we will reschedule for another time.

The meeting will include a presentation from Mrs Wharf with information on:

  • The vision for the school,
  • The school year related to your child,
  • The adaptations to the praise and behaviour system including celebrating success and ePraise,
  • The school’s response to routines and procedures in light of COVID-19
  • Literacy and Numeracy strategies

The meeting will last approximately 30 minutes and there will be opportunities for you to ask questions through the Teams event.  Members of the senior team will respond to the questions during the event.  Any questions we are unable to answer will be followed up after the conclusion of the meeting.

The presentation and the resources from the meeting will be emailed out to parents and put on the school website

We look forward to seeing you in the live Teams event.

Yours sincerely

A Goodwin

Deputy Headteacher
