A Level Results 2021

10th August 2021

Congratulations to Teign School Sixth Form Class of 2021

Teign School is delighted to report some outstanding achievements by its students in their A levels and other qualifications this summer.

For example, we have several students who have achieved 3 or more A*/A grades and are now able to take up places in some of the most competitive courses and universities in the country including Maths and English Degrees, Psychology, Sociology, Geography, Politics and History courses, marine biology, motor engineering, business and marketing. We have one student going onto a conservatoire to study Opera singing and several who are taking up apprenticeships.

This year, following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards. The government is not publishing performance data for any schools or colleges this year due to the varying impact of the pandemic.

Suzannah Wharf, the school’s headteacher said: “We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students, especially after such a difficult and disrupted year. Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto further education and study, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future. Our aim is to develop young people who have the attributes, knowledge and skills to go on to lead happy and extraordinary lives following their dreams and aspirations; positively contributing to our society. I am delighted with how well our students have done and they are a huge credit to Teign School, their families and the local community.”
