Employers

Teign, we are committed to supporting every student through the key stages of their education journey — from choosing Year 9 options, to exploring post‑16 pathways such as sixth form, college, apprenticeships or vocational training, and finally making post‑18 decisions about university, higher apprenticeships, or entering employment.

To guide these choices, students and parents are introduced to a range of trusted online platforms, which can be explored in school with tutors, at home with families, and with the support of our dedicated Careers Advisor. Our careers programme is underpinned by the Gatsby Benchmarks, a nationally recognised framework that measures the quality and impact of career guidance and forms a central part of the Government’s careers strategy.

Alongside our careers programme, we actively encourage local employers to work with us in the community — offering work experience placements, supporting events such as careers fairs, mock interviews, and employer encounters, and helping to inspire the next generation by sharing their expertise.

By working together — students, parents, school staff, and employers — we ensure that every young person has the knowledge, skills, and confidence to take their next steps toward a successful future.

Our work experience programme for years 10 and 12 currently runs each July, if you would like to speak to us about supporting our young people’s career education throughout the academic year, please get in touch with our Careers Leader, Evie Diamond at evie.diamond@teignschool.org.uk
