Careers Information, Advice and Guidance

At Teign School, we believe that preparing students for life beyond school is just as important as academic success. Our Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme plays a central role in helping students understand the opportunities available to them and develop the confidence to pursue their goals.

We are committed to raising aspirations and ensuring every student is inspired to achieve their full potential. Working closely with our students, we see ourselves as key influencers in shaping their future. We work hard to motivate and guide them in planning their career paths, using up-to-date labour market information and digital tools to help them make informed decisions.

Our students benefit from high-quality CEIAG that supports the following aims:

  • Empowering students to take ownership of their future by exploring career options and setting ambitious goals.
  • Providing access to accurate and relevant information about the world of work, further education, and training opportunities.
  • Preventing students from becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) by helping them understand the wide range of pathways available.
  • Creating real-world experiences through partnerships with employers, colleges, universities, and apprenticeship providers.
  • Encouraging academic and personal growth, so students are well-prepared for life after school.
  • Guiding students through key transitions, including post-16 and post-18 choices, to ensure they move forward with confidence and clarity.
