Teign School GCSE Results 2022

25th August 2022

Following a turbulent two years our Year 11 cohort have achieved a fantastic set of GCSE outcomes, with results that are higher than 2019 which was the best set of results in Teign’s history. The school looks, once again, to achieve a positive Progress 8 score and more three quarters of pupils passed both English and Maths at grade 4 or above. There were some fantastic outcomes across the curriculum with many subjects achieving high grades. In total 34 grade 9s were awarded which is an amazing achievement!

Headteacher, Suzannah Wharf, said, ‘We are delighted with these results, which reflect the incredible hard work and resilience of the pupils during a very challenging couple of years with continued disruption to education during the Covid Pandemic. I would like to say a huge well done to the students and thank you to their parents and carers and, of course, our really great teaching staff for their fantastic support. It is wonderful to see the continued positive impact of the changes we have made in the school be sustained and continue to get even better. Along with the excellent A’ level results last week these results represent a step up on our journey in providing an outstanding educational experience for our children. I want to thank our Year 11 students, who are such a great group of young people, for their determination and perseverance and they have achieved some well-deserved, excellent outcomes. We have several children who have attained the highest grades 9s and 8s. Many of our students have made truly spectacular progress and I am very proud of everything they have accomplished and am excited to follow their next steps in their educational journey. Congratulations to you all!’
