World Book Week

26th April 2021

What a Wonderful (Locked Down) World Book Week!

Teign School ran a Locked Down version of World Book Week back in March! We set the students a set of book related challenges to do every day in the week including World Book Day. Activities included making book characters out of junk, sending us ‘Shelfies’, drawing maps of the settings of their books, researching authors, book related baking and reading with younger people in their homes. The quality and quantity of work the students shared with tutors, English staff and Mrs Halse was tremendous – we have some very creative students out there.

Student quotes during locked down World Book Week 2021:

“I can’t wait to get back to school and go to the library again!”

“Today I listened to the Sally Nicholls podcast and I really enjoyed it. She is an inspiring woman and I am now eager to read her book ‘Things a bright girl can do’.”

“I really enjoyed reading my little friend a story and hearing her reading skills grow makes me feel so proud of her.”
