Welcome to World Book Day (Week) at Teign!
23rd February 2022Next week (& beyond) Teign School will be celebrating the 25th ever World Book Day! The actual day is on Thursday 3rd March. Students of all years will be in normal school uniform for lessons that day but are invited to change into book character costumes if they wish and come to the library at lunchtime. The best costumes will win Amazon vouchers and chocolate prizes!
Students have been told the detail about what is planned but here is a summary:
- Decorate a toilet roll tube competition! Create a book character out of a toilet roll tube with the chance to win prizes (judged on World Book Day)
- Teacher Treasure Hunt – students will need to work out which genre our staff like best from posters around our site. Prizes to be won!
- Raffle tickets given out to Year 7 & 8 students who get 100% on Accelerated Reader book quizzes. Prize raffle drawn later in March.
- A tutor time book quiz
- Mrs Stainer is judging a 'Book Taster Menu' competition
- All our departments will be renamed into fantasy lands from literature
- Year 7 & 8 students will play ‘The Reading Game’ in Library lessons
- £1 World Book day Vouchers will be sent home
- Teachers are posting what they are reading on their doors
Plus a host of other book activities will take place in the library at lunchtime after half term…
